TOTAL KNOWN PORCELAIN VARIETIES: 1

Nebraska is a state from which no porcelain license plates were ever officially
issued by any municipality.  However, there is one odd example of a homemade
porcelain plate which falls into the "oddball" category.

I: PRE-STATES / CITY & COUNTY PLATES

None known.

II: STATE-ISSUED PASSENGER PLATES

None Issued.

III: STATE-ISSUED NON-PASSENGER PLATES

None Issued.

IV: ODDBALL PORCELAINS

Although this plate looks a lot like a pre-state in terms of its construction
(porcelain tiles mounted into a metal frame), and is reminiscent of similar
pre-states from states like Tennessee and Texas, the number on the plate is too
high to be from Nebraska's pre-1915 era.  As a result, we must conclude that this
is either some sort of prototype or, perhaps more likely, is an owner-provided
replacement plate used in 1916 when the colors of the state plates were white
and blue.  Perhaps this particular owner lost one of their plates and mocked this
up using house numbers found at the local hardware store.  Nevertheless, it is
made of porcelain and is the only porcelain license plate of any kind known from
the state.
