Wheeling Porcelain Census
As a group, Wheeling porcelains are by far the most common of all West Virginia
pre-states.  Not only was Wheeling the first municipality in the state to issue a
porcelain license plate (1909), but it also boasts the longest run of porcelains
with its six distinct annual issues.  There are 24 surviving Wheeling porcelains
known today.

The undated and 1911 are extremely scarce, with only a single example of each
known in collectors' hands.  In fact, no year is common by any stretch of the
imagination.  In fact, the easiest Wheeling plates to find are the 1910 and 1912
issues - and there are only about a half dozen of each of those years known!

Below is a census of all known Wheeling porcelain license plates.  If you are
aware of any that do not appear on this list, please
email me!  THANKS!
